Fun with Microscopes

We have been learning about cells in science, and we have learned a lot. We were very excited to use the microscopes, so much so, that Mrs. Cobb had to tell us to be quiet in order to hear the directions.

Mrs. Cobb let us prepare two slides in our groups. The first slide we prepared was a slide of a plant, a water plant to be exact. Even though our microscopes aren't powerful enough to see the nucleus, we were able to see the cell walls.

The second slide we prepared for our groups were of cheek cells!! One member from each group got to use a toothpick to rub off cheek cells. They, then, rubbed their cheek cells in iodine so we could see the cells. It was a really cool activity.

Mrs. Cobb left the microscopes on the front two tables so we could use them to see slides that were already prepared. We have learned a lot about cells and how to use the microscopes!!

Don't look so surprised!!

Working together to put the slide on the  microscope.

Let me see! Let me see!

Do you see anything?

Let me help you!

I'm next!

I think we need to adjust the slide.

We are working together!

Are we doing what we are suppose to be doing?

I see it!

Waiting patiently for our turn.

Do you see anything yet?
