Leaping Into Fifth Grade!
Click on the picture above to see more class pictures. My Kids Bank is now up and running!! Students can now use their usernames and passwords to access their accounts from any computer with Internet. I have checked all usernames and passwords, and they are working. Please read below for some tips. Once you are ready to begin, click on the My Kids Bank link on the right hand side under Students. 1. Use all lower case letters (no capitals) 2. Do not add spaces between words 3. If you don't see account balance, click on "Show Current" 4. Having problems? See Mrs. Cobb for help. Want to help end hunger? Then go to www.freerice.com. For every vocabulary word you answer correctly, the UN World Food Program will donate 20 gains of rice to help end world hunger. You can also click on the link on the left. Let the class and me know how much you are able to help. I know I look forward to hearing all about how you are helping to end world hunger! Check out the other two new links on the right hand side under Student. Learning Vocabulary Fun is packed full of fun games to help you improve your vocabulary. The games range from easy to hard. Want to improve your study habits? Check out the How to Study website. It is full of information that will help you with many different topics, like spelling long words and writing a book report. There are many different topics to choose from on this wonderful, informative website. Need to know what a word means? Want to find the perfect word? Use the Merriam-Webster's Dictionary and Thesaurus to help you with vocabulary, reading, and writing.

Do not allow your child to look at these pages unsupervised. The school provides a screening program to make sure students are protected from inappropriate websites, but your home computer may or may not have this same protection. I will be checking the links often, but sometimes websites change or are hijacked. Always supervise your child when they are using the Internet. Again, I will be checking links regularly, but if you should discover any problems, please let me know right away.
