Donors Choose

I have recently added two new projects to Donors Choose. Please visit our classroom Donors Choose page by clicking here. Both projects are under $450, and they both have to do with reading. I am looking to have binders funded in order to develop interactive reading notebooks in my classroom this school year. This project will allow my students to have one place to store all of their classroom notes, chapter notes, vocabulary, and reading response letters.

The second project is for books for our guided reading program. These books will help me teach small groups with a more varied reading selection. These books will also be shared with the other fifth grade teachers on my team. They will be used for years to come!

If you can donate (or even if you can't), please visit our Donors Choose page by clicking here. Any little donation will help! Please be sure to check out other Donors Choose projects as well.

Updates Coming!

Many things will be updated this summer. The Science page will be updated as we are now using ISI Science Kits. I am also going to be working on updating spelling lists, math, class booklet, and the room tour. Check back in August for updates to the classroom pictures and classroom videos.

New Addition!

A new webpage, Classroom Pond, has been added to Leaping Into 5th Grade! Students in my 5th grade classroom now have a place to go to access all the links they will need to use in the classroom and at home. We will be using several new websites that I have researched and found online. One exciting addition is the website Class Dojo! This website will help us keep track of our behaviors in real-time! Students will be able to access and keep track of their behavior weekly. Another neat resource we will be using is Edmodo. This website is similar to Facebook, but it is geared towards education. I will be handing out classroom group codes at the beginning of the school year. Be sure to check-out the new webpage.
