Since 2005 my classroom theme has been frogs. It all started in second grade when I was getting ready to start the school year by teaching about pond habitats. I was only going to have frogs for a little while, but I found that there are tons of different resources that center around frogs. Since this was the case, I decided that I would have a frog theme throughout the year. When I moved to fifth grade in 2006, I decided to keep the frog theme since I had already invested so much time and money into my classroom. I have found that even my fifth graders love the frog theme. It has also helped that when I moved to fifth grade, I was once again in a green room (all the cabinets are green), so I decided to keep with what I was doing. Since I have kept with the frog theme, I have kept the frog pages. It seems that before school starts each year, I receive e-mails from teachers who have also decided to use frogs as a theme. I guess frogs are just so darn cute! I hope you find some of these ideas and activities helpful.
