Every student in my 5th grade classroom will be receiving a F.R.O.G. binder the first week of school. F.R.O.G. stands for Fully Responsible, Organized, & Growing. Listed below you will find a description of each section in the F.R.O.G. Binder. Please read this section carefully as we will be using the F.R.O.G. Binder all year long. The pictures and descriptions below are what the binder will come with at the beginning of the school year. The students will be allowed to place the folders they bring into the binder, since they will need a folder for each subject in fifth grade. If needed, we will 3 hole punch their folders in order to insert them into the binder. These binders will be used every single day, and it is the each student's responsibility to take care of the F.R.O.G. binder, not the parents'.

     Please note: The school will be providing one binder for each student in our classroom. If the binder is lost or ruined, the school will not be furnishing another binder.

Inside Front Pocket		In this pocket you will find notes from school and our weekly newsletter. All papers in this pocket need to be removed every night. If there are any forms, such as field trip forms, which need to be returned, please sign and place back inside this pocket.
Sheet Protector (Spelling and Vocabulary)		This will contain each week’s spelling and vocabulary list.
Assignment Notebook		This is where the students will be writing in their daily assignments. Parents will need to sign daily.
Data Section		In this section, each student will be keeping track of different forms of data throughout the school year. They will be tracking their attendance, behavior, SSP results, spelling results, Accelerated Reader progress, and other results throughout the school year. This section will allow the parents to see how their child is doing, and it will allow the student to see the progress they are making in class. Homework Folder		This folder will contain your child’s homework for each night. After your child completes his/her homework, please be sure that he/she places it back into his/her homework folder. This should be the child’s responsibility, not yours!
Back Cover		The back cover of the binder covers the rules of the F.R.O.G. Binders. These rules will be enforced. The F.R.O.G. Binders have to last ALL school year!!
