Social Studies

  In fifth grade, social studies is a tested subject on ISTEP. Since this is the case, our classroom will be doing a lot with social studies. Students will be learning about Native Americans, explorers, colonization, the American Revolution, the Constitution, government, and states.

  Students will be participating in many different classroom activities using the social studies book and Promethean Board. Students will also have projects which will center around social studies themes.

   We are in the second year of using Houghton Mifflin Harcourt social studies book. To find out more about the five units, click on one of the links located on the left.
