Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Projects

At the beginning of every school, my students read the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I do this because we take our state exams in September, and I want the students to be reading as we prepare for our tests by reviewing 4th grade skills. This year, I asked the students to develop a project to show their understanding of the book. This project was used in place of taking a traditional pencil paper test to show comprehension. I gave the students three weeks in which to complete their assignment.

On this page, I am posting the work of my students. All of the work posted here is the sole property of the students who created these works. I am also including a project guidelines page (which can also be found on www.leapinginto5thgrade.com/CharlieChocolateFactory.htm) for teachers to see what I asked my students to do. Please enjoy the projects on this page.

This scene represents the wild ride in the boiled sweet down the chocolate river.

Another scene in the Chocolate Room.

This scene represents the square candies that look round. This is probably one of my favorite parts of the book.
